All Primary schools in Selby and Ainsty can sign up and enjoy free, national curriculum linked education resources, courtesy of a national programme developed by the Premier League. The programme uses the appeal of football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills.

Premier League Primary Stars was launched in March 2017 and over 12,000 schools are now enjoying access to bespoke, free to download teaching resources created specifically for primary schools.  The programme offers resources for teachers across key stages 1 and 2 in English, Maths PE and PSHE. Each subject has tailored lesson plans including worksheets, teaching instructions and video content featuring famous faces to help motivate and inspire. All resources have been created in partnership with industry experts Edcoms and the PSHE Association, National Literacy Trust and other key stakeholders.

The PSHE resources, for example, use the context of football and sport to educate around key values including equality, diversity, resilience, self-esteem, teamwork and fair play. Real life examples from sport provide lesson content, videos and fun activities to enhance children’s understanding and interest in subjects including maths and English.

All primary schools are eligible to sign up for the programme and to get your school involved all you need to do is visit www.plprimarystars.com for more information and to register.
