The 2018 Best Small Shops Competition is now open, and local MP – Nigel Adams – is calling on shopkeepers in Selby & Ainsty to enter and celebrate the central role they play in the community.
The free to enter competition is open to any small shop in the UK. All shops who enter will benefit from promotion to consumers via the online Indie Retail Directory. Nominations should be submitted by Sunday 9th September via www.bestsmallshops.co.uk.
The 25 most impressive applicants will be shortlisted by a panel of independent retail industry representatives. These businesses will be invited to a Parliamentary Reception on 13th November, when the winner of the competition will be crowned. Judges will be looking for a demonstration of entrepreneurial spirit, innovation in business, and lasting positive community impact.
Speaking about the competition, Nigel Adams MP said ” I am pleased to see this brilliant initiative is back to showcase the wonderful work of small shops across the country. This is a great opportunity for small shopkeepers in Selby & Ainsty to highlight the incredible impact they have on our community. We are lucky to have a broad range of small shops across the constituency, and I urge all those eligible to apply.”
