Catch the Bus Week is a fantastic annual celebration of the bus – one of our treasured community assets, and Nigel Adams MP is pleased to support this year’s celebrations, running until July 8th.
With hundreds of bus companies, organisations and local authorities getting involved in the sixth year of celebrations, this year is set to be the biggest yet in encouraging people to ditch the car and get the bus!
Buses are our most widely used form of public transport, carrying millions of people to work and places of education, and providing crucial access to town centres. The role they play makes them a valued community asset. This week Nigel encourages constituents across Selby and Ainsty to support the Greener Journeys campaign by using their local bus service to get to work, school or even for leisure.
Nigel said, “I am pleased to learn that the success of Catch the Bus week continues to grow year on year. Buses play an important role in helping individuals and communities remain connected and mobile. I know that, particularly in rural areas like ours, they are often a particularly crucial asset. I often catch the bus to get to constituency office in Tadcaster and always enjoy chats with fellow passengers! I urge everyone to support the campaign as much as possible this week.”
