Selby and Ainsty MP Nigel Adams says he is delighted that the donkey sanctuary near Cridling Stubbs was re-opened to visitors from 12 July.
Nigel said: “I first visited the centre after the tragic events at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester when Josie who owns and runs the donkey sanctuary was one of the people injured. I was delighted when Josie was well enough to return home and very pleased that the centre, thanks to a great team of volunteers, is now able to re-open for visitors.”
When Nigel first visited the donkey sanctuary in June he was able to get close to the donkeys, which are very friendly and affectionate animals. He said: “It was a real pleasure to mingle with them in their field. I am delighted that the centre has been able to re-open to visitors.”
A fundraising page has also been set up to appeal for donations which will go towards paying for animal feed, vet bills and bedding. If you’d like to help, please visit https://www.gofundme.com/wonkeydonkey
