The Selby Business Show is to be held at the Owl Hotel, Hambleton near Selby on Tuesday 4th August from 10am to 5pm and is open to the general public as well as visitors from business organisations.

The local Business Link team will be available to offer all types of advice.  These services are free, easy to use, impartial and at this particular time, help is a useful resource for any business.

There will be ‘Ask The Experts Clinics’ in which advisers from HMRC, Trading Standards, Selby District Council and Selby Town Council together with members of several professional institutes will offer one to one discussions with any owner or manager facing problems or considering new ideas.

There are many benefits for visitors such as being able to see the latest products and services available, to take advantage of special offers from exhibitors, and to gain ideas to improve their own business and source new customers and suppliers.

Many exhibitors will offer prizes for visitors who leave business cards on their stands, and financial, legal and accountancy experts will be showing their latest products and services.

The Show is to be opened by locally brought up and educated successful businessman Nigel Adams, who has been selected as the new Conservative Candidate for the Selby and Ainsty seat.

Nigel is certainly well qualified to offer advice to businesses.  Since leaving Selby High School at the age of 17, Nigel has had a track record of success in business, having started his own telecoms company from scratch at the age of 26 with a £20 a week enterprise allowance scheme grant.  He subsequently built the company up to having 40 staff and a significant turnover before the company was bought by a PLC in 1999.

As well as his political activities, Nigel is still a Director of 2 highly successful companies.

As Selby Chamber Chairman Geoff Gordon says about all our networking activities, “these gatherings are a tremendous opportunity for people to make extremely useful contacts with local businesses and professional advisers”

For any business looking for cost effective opportunities, visiting an event like the Selby Business Show is a low cost way of finding new contacts in a short space of time.
