Before his resounding election victory, Nigel Adams pledged that if elected, he would hold his first residents surgeries this coming weekend.

Speaking to the BBC after the early hours declaration on Friday morning, Mr Adams announced that he would be holding his first residents surgeries in Selby and Tadcaster this Saturday at 11am and 2pm respectively.

 "I think it's important to get straight down to work and that's why I wanted to hold surgeries for residents as soon as was possible" said Nigel.
