MP's employment fair is just the job

Selby and Ainsty MP, Nigel Adams, is organising a Jobs Fair on 21st September at Selby Abbey Leisure Centre from 10am – 4pm. This fantastic opportunity is FREE OF CHARGE for companies exhibiting and jobseekers attending.

Employers exhibiting will have the opportunity to make an optional donation of £25 towards refreshments costs and the balance will be donated to local charity, Selby Hands of Hope

Since Nigel came up with the idea of the Selby District Jobs Fair, interest has soared with over 35 employers and local companies signed up so far including online retailer, Amazon who are looking to employ 1000 new staff. There will also be an Employer Networking Opportunity from 4.30pm to 6pm

There will also be retraining opportunities from local colleges and there will even be advice on how to start a business and what apprenticeships mean to businesses and youngsters alike.

Selby District Jobs Fair is a chance for people who are looking for their first job, wishing to change job or who may be facing the prospect of redundancy and seeking a new opportunity to meet face to face with potential new employers and make a well informed decision over what the best job is for them.

There will also be seminars from expert recruitment specialists who will give advice on:

• CV writing
• Interview techniques
• Online Job searching
• Apprenticeships

Selby District Jobs Fair 2011 is a major opportunity for companies and organisations to connect with potential employees in an informal setting. There will be an opportunity to have a display stand or just a table and chairs for you to meet those looking for work in your industry.

Selby District Jobs Fair 2011 will be promoted widely to jobseekers from now on until 21st September both in the media, online and via government agencies. Local and regional press and broadcast media outlets have shown great interest in this initiative and as prospective employers sign up to attend, there will be press announcements and opportunities for media coverage for organisations.
