Nigel presents Selby Army Cadet Force with a certificate after the cadets collected over £350 on behalf of SSAFA Forces Help.

It was particularly poignant for Nigel to present the award, as he was an Army Cadet himself at the same drill hall in Selby thirty years ago.

Selby Army Cadets have raised money for SSAFA (the charity which helps ex-service personnel) York and Selby Division for several years. The young men and women give up their free time to carry this out.

In June this year, they received donations of £374. 51p from the general public in Selby by way of a street collection. This continues to be an excellent annual source of revenue for SSAFA.

Nigel (pictured with Cadet Bethany Fletcher and Corporal Joshua Elcock) said "It was a real thrill for me to visit the drill hall again after thirty years, I enjoyed my time as an Army Cadet in Selby and am delighted that they are still going strong"

He continued "Selby should be proud of these young men and women who've done a fantastic job in raising this money and Sgt Major Mick Topping and his team  should also be very proud"

Nigel Adams MP was joined at the presentation by Cllr. Clive Saunders JP, Divisional Secretary, SSAFA, York & Selby Division.
