Nigel Adams has been re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Selby and Ainsty with an increased majority of 13,772 votes.
Nigel polled 58.7% of all votes cast with Labour in second place with 34.1%. Both the Lib Dem and UKIP candidates lost their deposits.
Following the result Nigel said, “It’s huge honour to be re-elected for the place where I grew up and have spent most of my life. I intend to repay the faith put in me by the electorate and look forward to getting stuck in and back to work later today.”

Conservative 32,921 (58.7%)
Labour 19,149 (34.1%)
Lib Dem 2,293 (4%)
UKIP 1,714 (3%)
