Nigel has today welcomed ONE Pro cycling team to Selby as they do a recce for their participation in the Tour de Yorkshire on May 2nd.
The new cycling team founded by former England cricketing legend Matt Prior, wheeled into Selby to do a recce of the town and to ride the second stage from Selby to York in advance of the actual race on May 2nd.
Alongside council leader Mark Crane, Nigel helped secure the Tour de Yorkshire for Selby. The race will put the district on the world sporting map with TV coverage on Eurosport and ITV
Nigel commented “I am thrilled to see ONE Pro in Selby ahead of May 2nd. It really is exciting now as we are only a few weeks away from the actual event. Their Chairman and one of their riders are Yorkshiremen and I hope they do really well.”
Thousands of cycling fans are expected to flood into Selby on May 2nd and the council has organised many activities to celebrate this great event.
