Nigel Adams MP said the following in respect of the tragic murder of Jo Cox MP:
My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Jo Cox who was senselessly murdered yesterday.
She was not only an excellent MP for the place where she grew up, but a wife and mother of two young children.
She was hugely popular, talented and respected by all who knew her. She dedicated her life to helping others and died doing the job she loved.
I welcome the decision by both sides in the referendum campaign to suspend their campaign activities so that all may take time to reflect and pay tribute to her, and I also welcome the Conservative Party’s decision not to stand a candidate in the by-election in Batley & Spen.
May she rest in peace.
