COVID-19 is a new illness affecting your lungs and airways. The specific symptoms are
- a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
- a new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly
- a shortness of breath
- a loss in taste or smell
If you need medical help, please use the 111 online coronavirus service. Find the link here.
If you are experiencing any one of the symptoms listed above, I encourage you to stay at home and self-isolate. Please find further information on self-isolation here.
Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home.
The Government has launched a public information campaign setting out how everyone can take steps to minimise risk to themselves and their families. Please find the link here.
If you would like further information about self-isolation, or the latest information, please visit the government guidance here.
