Gigabit fibre broadband for 430 more homes & business in Selby and Ainsty

Broadband connectivity with speeds of up to 1000 Megabits per second Mbps (known as a Gigabit) has been made available to another 430 homes and businesses in Selby and Ainsty. Everybody with a home or business where the new service is now available is being notified by letter.

A19 Update – Road reconstruction to cost £6.5M and take 6 months

In the month since I asked NYCC to treat the closure of the A19 as an emergency the underground surveys have been completed and a series of decisions have been taken by NYCC about how best to reconstruct the road. A contractor has now been appointed and work is expected to start soon.

Budget boost - Major upgrade for the A1 through our region

The stretch of the A1 from the end of the Motorway section at Darrington going towards the Doncaster by-pass is to be upgraded to modern motorway standard. The road is one of the most congested in the region and is the source of many hold ups and accidents. 

Flood compensation schemes now operational

I am pleased to confirm that Selby District Council have put in place the full range of Government funded compensation schemes and some additional local schemes to help those affected by flooding.
