A19 Update – The road and the causeway will be rebuilt

I am very well aware of the disruption since the closure of the A19 in February when it was severely damaged by flooding. The diverted traffic and especially HGV’s are having an impact that is being felt in many villages across Selby District.

Selby District’s 9th Jobs Fair

Business is booming in Selby District. As businesses expand they need more staff and as a result there will be hundreds of jobs on offer from over 30 employers at the Selby Jobs Fair on Thursday 26 September.

£9M go ahead for Tadcaster Flood Defence project

The Government has announced £62.35M of additional funding for flood defence schemes in England. Much of this will benefit projects across the Northern Powerhouse. Tadcaster has done  especially well with £9M from the total of £62.35M.

AZUMA Comes to Selby

On 16 May Selby experienced the benefits of a £5.7Billion new train replacement project started in 2011. The new AZUMA trains are smoother, have more seats, more room and accelerate faster than any other train running in Britain.
