Have your say on plans to transform the area around Selby Station

I have please in supporting plans for a £32M investment in Selby which will deliver a massive improvement to the area around Selby Station and open up the vista of Selby Abbey and the River Ouse.  The plans are now availble on-line and you can comment on them. The consultation  is open now and closes on 24 March.

A summary of the seven big improvements that are proposed

One – Brand new Station Plaza in front of the Railway Station

Two – New station approach via Cowie Drive

Three- Dedicated cycle routes through Ousegate and improved pavements, all made possible by introducing a one way system for traffic

Four – Improvements to Shipyard Road, Selby Lock and the Denison Road Bridge

Five – Improvements to Selby Bus Station and Bawtry Road

Six – Brand new bridge with wharfe for pedestrians and cyclists to cross the Ouse to Olympia Park

Seven – Improvements to Selby Railway station including step free access.
